Farmers Market in the Fall Mood


You can still find several local Farmers at the Cannon County Farmers Market on the Courthouse Square on Saturdays. Several of the Farmers and customers enjoyed a 'misty' Saturday morning on October 10th. Even though it was a little chilly, it was a beautiful Fall Day to be at the Market.
There was several Fall items available; corn stalks, straw bales, pumpkins, gourds and more to help with anyones Fall decorations.
Still alot of Fall Produce available; summer and winter squash, sweet and hot peppers, potatoes, green beans, turnip greens, pears, baked goods, jams and jellies and much more. Rumor has it there might be Apple pies and Brittles next Saturday on October 17th, you can really smell Fall in the air when the pies are baking, pass the ice cream please!
The Cannon County Farmers Market will be open until the last day in October, be sure to stop by and see what is there. Visit with the Farmers and see what else they might have available this season and what they are planning for next season.

Fall Pumpkins and More



On Saturday, October 3rd you could find the Cannon County Farmers Market on the South side of Rite Aide in Woodbury, there were several Farmers with an assortment of produce and Fall items. The Farmers and customers would like to give a special THANK YOU to Rite Aide for the use of their parking lot while the Annual Car Show was using the Courthouse Square.

It was a wonderful day and young Mr. Fann enjoyed helping customers pick out a perfect pumpkin, several other Farmers had corn stalks, straw bales, gourds, pepper ristas and winter squash to help make anyone a nice Fall display.

There was still plenty of great produce available; summer and winter squash, turnip greens, green beans, broccoli, potatoes, pears, sweet and hot peppers, gourds and baked goods and also jams and jellies.

Farmers and Customers would like to say thank you to John Whittemore and Tom Foolery for performing Bluegrass style music during the Market, anyone is welcome to come and 'jam' with them.

The Farmers Market will be back around the Courthouse Square next weekend, be sure to stop by and see what is available. Remember the Cannon County Farmers Market is open Rain or Shine!

Very Wet Market


It was a very wet Cannon County Farmers Market on Saturday, September 26th. In hopes to get a few hours out of the Market, the rains were brutal for the farmers that set up around the Courthouse Square.
Due to the Color of Fall Car Show on the Courthouse Square October 3rd, find the Farmers Market set up on the South side of Rite Aide during the hours of 6am to 10am. There is still plenty of produce available including summer squash, peppers, pears, green beans, corn, okra, watermelons, late tomatoes, winter squash, pumpkins, baked goods and much more.
Cannon Co. Farmers Market is open to the end of October, watch for Fall Decorations and products. See you at the Market.

Still Plenty to be Found at the Farmers Market



There was plenty of produce to be found at the Cannon County Farmers Market, Saturday, September 19th. The Naylor Children had Chestnuts for sale, cute as can be in his cowboy hat!!








Mr. Thurman Bogle, had watermelon, pumpkins, red and green tomatoes, sweet potatoes and potatoes.








Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Bussell of Cannon Co. were new farmers to the Cannon Co. Market. They had a good selection of various produce; summer squash, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and more. It was a pleasure having them at the Market and hope they return.
Several other Farmers had Sweet and Hot Peppers, Baked Goods, Jams and Jellies, Pears, Okra, Cucumbers, Herbs, Flowers, Summer and Winter Squash. Still alot of wonderful produce and fruit available, be sure to take time to visit with the Farmers and find out what their fall crops will be.
Very important message for the next Market on September 26th, due to the Car Show, you will find the Market Farmers on the South Side of Rite Aide that morning from 6am to 10am. This is only a temporary location for the time the Car Show will occupy the Courthouse Square and will return to the Courthouse each Saturday until the end of October. Be sure to stop by and see "What's Pickin".

Fall has Arrived at the Market



See how the "farm girl" Miss Fann has grown in a year, (noticed her picture on the right next to her brother) We were delighted to see her and Mrs. Fann at the Market Saturday with a truck load of Pumpkins. Several other Farmers arrived with nice selection of pumpkins, winter squash, gourds and pears. This is a definate sign Fall has arrived at the Market.
The Cannon County Farmers Market located around the Courthouse Square has enjoyed several beautiful market days this growing season. There has been several Farmers with a good selection of produce and fruit this year and the season is not over yet. The Market will run to the end of October as long as produce is available, so be sure to stop by and see what will be available from the Farmers.


Bluegrass Music can also be heard over the next few Saturday from John Whittemore and Tom Foolery and several others. If you'd like to join in, bring your guitar, bass, fiddle etc and enjoy some "Pickin" time.
Mrs. Steve (Esther) Edwards of Esthers Produce here in Woodbury had assortment of peppers, squash, tomatoes, flowers, jams and baked goods available Saturday. Other Farmers had green beans, field peas, turnip greens, pears, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, watermelon, summer and winter squash, pumpkins, gourds, baked goods, jams and jellies, and more.

Plenty of Pickers at the Farmers Market

Saturday was a "Pickin" Good Day at the Cannon County Farmers Market on the Courthouse Square. It was the place to be! There was plenty to 'pick' from. Corn, Tomatoes, Peppers, Okra, Gourds, Pumpkins, Squash, Baked Goods, Jams, Jellies, Field Peas, Turnip Greens, Watermelon, Eggplant, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoes and more.


Miss Rhianna enjoyed "Pickin" a Pumpkin from Erdmanns Farms and several other visitors to the Market enjoyed "Pickin" out produce from several of the Farmers.









There was also Special "Pickin's" from John and Rebecca Whittemore and Tom Foolery who played Bluegrass tunes, Howard Johnson, Austin Erdmann and Kim Davenport arrived and joined in with them. They plan to be at the next market also, so if you play or sing and would like to have an enjoyable Saturday Morning, get down to the Courthouse Square and do some "Pickin".









The Cannon County Farmers Market will be open to the end of October or until growing season ends. Watch for more Fall Items to arrive, it's getting close to Pumpkin Pikin Time! See you at the Market.

Pickers at the Farmers Market


We keep saying 'another great day' at the Cannon County Farmers Market and it was again Saturday, August 29th around the Courthouse Square.
There were several Farmers set up with a large selection of Fresh Farm Produce and Baked Goods. Everyone enjoyed the "Pickers" picking bluegrass music. John Wittemore of Blue Hills Farm and Joseph Brynes of Brynes Farm entertained customers and farmers with several selections of bluegrass tunes. They hope to be back at the next market on September 5th and invite anyone to come and 'pick' with them, should will be a fun time!
There is still plenty of produce coming out of local gardens and farms. Corn, field peas, summer squash and winter squash, be sure to check out the 'naked turkey squash' at Flying S Farms, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, watermelon, green beans, okra, pumpkins and more.
